Principal's Message

Parents José and Dolores Hernandez, from Tlatenagngo Zacatecas. My father came to this country under the Bracero program. The rest of the family, 9 girls and 4 boys, immigrated to Boyle Heights in the late fifties. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles.

I attended Rowan Avenue Elementary and Our Lady of Lourdes. I graduated from Bishop Mora Salesian High School. I attended California State University, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Educational Administration. I received my teaching credential through, the Los Angeles Unified School District, District Intern Program.

I have been an administrator with the Los Angeles Unified School District for 20 years.
